The last line of the Vignette is "But no one complains." Like many last lines in other Vignettes, the ending seems unfinished.

Read Vignette A Rice Sandwich pg. 43-45. How does Sister Superior treat Esperanza? Do you think this is fair? How does Esperanza react? Do you think she should have reacted any differently to the situation? Explain why or why not.
Write a letter to Sister Superior as if it were coming from Sandra Cisneros 25 years after the incidents described in the Vignette A Rice Sandwich. Use the above questions to help you guide your feelings towards Sister Superior and to write your thoughts to her.
