• Lesson 1.2 - Atomic model, atomic number/mass and isotopes

Learning Goals: By the end of this lesson you will be able to

    • Describe the difference between the terms: Atomic Number (AN); Atomic Mass (AM); Isotope; Atomic Mass Unit (amu).
    • Compare and contrast between Atomic Number (AN) and Atomic Mass (AM).
    • Calculate neutron number from AM and AN.
    • Distinguish Isotopes from regular elements or atoms.
    • Write a formula of an Isotope using from AM and AN.
    • Calculate relative atomic mass from given data of isotopes.

Success Criteria: By the end of this lesson you will be able to

    • have a clear concept of Atomic Number (AN); Atomic Mass (AM); Isotope; Atomic Mass Unit (amu) and methods to calculate relative atomic mass from given data of isotopes.
