    Unit Description: In this Unit, you will analyze chemical reactions used in a variety of applications, and assess their impact on society and the environment; investigate different types of chemical reactions; demonstrate an understanding of the different types of chemical reactions.

      Unit Goals:

      By the end of this unit, you will be able to:

      ·         discover that chemical processes can have unexpected effects on society and the environment and learn to be more aware of the chemical reactions that are involved in these impacts so that you can make better-informed choices.

      ·         examine the operation of chemical processes such as making steel, paper, and consumer products. As you learn about these processes, you will consider their effect on the environment and how this effect can be minimized
