      In this lesson, you will learn about several helpful stages in the process for organizing your thoughts and writing the literary essay as well as acquire knowledge about the specific requirements of this genre. You will also develop your self-assessment skills to enable you to assess your own learning, set specific goals, and plan next steps for your learning.

        Plagiarism can be a slippery slope. Many international students have been taught to reproduce well-respected texts verbatim (i.e.. word-for-word), with no citation or credit given to the original source or writer.  This is a form of stealing!

        Discuss the dangers of plagiarism and what is or is not acceptable when borrowing ideas from other sources.

        JOURNAL ENTRY:  In your daily journal (Journalling 100), write down (or copy) the following question and respond to it in a 150-200 word paragraph. 

        Name one aspect of your writing that you have strengthened so far in this course, and one aspect that needs more attention. What will you do to improve in that area?
