      2. identify molecules as polar, non-polar and their solubility
      3. explain the unique properties of water

      Specific Expectations:

      NELSON Text: Section 1.1 & 1.2

      INSTRUCTIONS:
      1. Read Section 1.1 and Section 1.2 in the textbook.
      2. Study key terms from Glossary 1.1 and do Glossary Quiz 1.1.
      3. Watch Atoms Bonding Polarity Video Lesson (10:16 min) and complete Atoms and Bondings note (from Lesson 1.1 Resources folder).
      4. Complete Polarity worksheet (from Lesson 1.1 Resources folder).
      5. Watch Solubility and Intermolecular Bonds Video Lesson (6:32 min) and complete Solubility and Intermolecular Forces note (from Lesson 1.1 Resources folder).
      6. Do textbook page 24 #2-5
      7. Read Properties of Water Summary Note and complete Properties of Water worksheet (from Lesson 1.1 Resources folder).
      8. Submit all work to Lesson 1.1 Assignment dropbox.
      9. Check your answers and review as necessary.
      10. Complete Lesson 1.1 Exit Card
      11. Complete BONUS Assignment - Properties of Water Experiment (optional)
