Lesson 2.8 - Job interview skills
Learning Goals:
By the end of this lesson students will be able to
1) Have knowledge of job interviews, analyze job interview questions, understand how to prepare for job interviews, and know how to perform well in job interviews
2) Improve listening and speaking skills through class discussion
3) Use new vocabulary appropriately
4) Learn to analyze and give feedback to peers’ interview performance
5) Improve research skills through project
6) Improve presentation skill
7) Enhance teamwork and public speaking skills through activities
Students to complete this after you've finished all activities/tasks in today's lesson.
- 1. Write two cover letters – one in Chinese and one in English for a summer intern/ part-time position with the template given
- Hand it in by 8:00pm Sunday, June 16.
- 2. Mock job interview (10%)
- a. in groups of three, take turns to be the interviewer, interviewee & observer
- b. Observer assesses the interviewee on their performance
- c. Practice & then do that in front of class
