      Learning Goals: In this lesson, you will be introduced to fictional texts ( short stories, poems and novels)

      You will also:

      •  learn about the elements that make up a fictional text, and begin to identify them in the stories that you read.
      • learn about myths
      • read the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur 
      • reflect on what makes a fictional hero

      •  The Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur Assignment

        Our first myth is about the Greek hero Thesesus and his quest to defeat the half- bull half-man, minotaur. We will read the story together and answer the questions along the way. 


        When we have finished the story, you will answer the following question: 

        In the context of this myth, what makes a hero? Cite evidence from this text, your own experience, and other literature, art, or history in your answer.
