• Lesson 5.4 - Galvanic Cells & Standard Hydrogen Half-Cell

    Learning Goals:

By the end of this lesson, I will be able to...

    1. analyse the processes in galvanic cells
    2. draw labelled diagrams of these cells showing
      • the half-reaction occurring in each half-cell,
      • the direction of electron flow,
      • the anode and cathode,
      • the cell potential, and
      • the direction of ion migration
    3. describe the standard hydrogen half-cell, and explain its use as a reference cell.

    Specific Expectations:

    NELSON Textbook Reference: Section 10.1 & 10.2
