Welcome to ENG4U!!  I am pleased to have you in this course and to serve as your teacher based in Toronto, Canada.  We will be examining various literary works in the form of poetry, short stories, a novel, a play and the media.  

In the process, you will be developing your oral discussion and presentation skills as well as building your writing and literary analysis competence.  You will also be expanding your knowledge, understanding and use of vocabulary, figurative language and grammatical structure which will help you in your essay writing.  

You are expected to participate in all class activities, especially in the oral discussions.  Your opinion, ideas, insights, and experiences are very important.  

During this class, you will be interacting and working with your classmates in every session.  I look forward to getting to know all of you and to helping you to develop your English speaking, listening, and reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through the exploration of great literature.
