      -Understand the main causes of the Cold War & some reasons for Canada's growing prosperity...

      Success Criteria: By the end of this lesson you will be able to

      -Explain the key causes of 'the Cold War' & the differences between a real war & proxy wars that the USSR, China & the U.S. were fighting. 

      -Read about Canada's role as a 'Middle power' peace-keeping nation that started in the 1950s & explain why Lester B. Pearson received a Nobel Peace prize.


      Each lesson must include at least the following (these go between glossary and Discussion forum)

      -  (10-15 minutes Lecture Segment follow by 20-30 minutes activity) x 3

      - Lesson Assignment/Homework (FOR and/or AS)

      and the following


      •  Intro. to Unit 3 Study Notes File
      •  KWL Unit 2 (Assignment)
