      In this lesson the students will learn how to:

      • plan their research
      • ask strong and focused questions
      • use different types of sources
      • make a hypothesis
      • understand key research vocabulary

       Success Criteria 

      I can:

       Understanding Research Skills

      • explain what investigating/research means
      • create a simple research plan (purpose, method, sources, ethics)
      •  identify primary and secondary sources


       Thinking & Focus

      • write a clear research question
      •  improve my question using different perspectives (culture, feelings, society)
      •  write a hypothesis using IF…THEN


       Using Information (A3 Skills)

      • find and write simple facts from sources
      • write information in my own words (no copying)
      • write a simple conclusion


       Worksheet Completion

      • complete all parts of the research worksheet
      •  follow instructions step by step
      • show my thinking clearly


       Vocabulary Understanding

      • understand key words (research, hypothesis, primary source, secondary source, ethics)
      •  use these words correctly in my work
