The animated film SLEEPING BETTY by NFB animator Claude Cloutier is a version of the famous fable (aka fairy tale) known as Sleeping Beauty.

The tale was first published by Giambattista Basile in his collection of tales titled The Pentamerone (published in 1634).

Sleeping Beauty has been adapted into dance form as a ballet by Peter Tchaikovsky (1889) and as an animated film by the Walt Disney Company.
