Adding Details To Your Sentences

READ ME BEFORE YOU BEGIN THIS ACTIVITY

One way to make your stories and other types of writing more interesting is by adding details to your sentences.

Using questions word ( who, what, when, where, how and why) is a good way to add information to a sentence.

  • Who: My mom
  • What is she doing? : Making a cake
  • When: This morning
  • Where: In the kitchen
  • Why: It's my Birthday

My mom was in the kitchen this morning baking a cake for my birthday.

We can add more detail by adding details using adjectives and adverbs

  • My mom ( beautiful, smart, talented) ( happily)
  • The kitchen ( tiny, hot)
  • Cake ( chocolate)

My beautiful and talented mom was in the tiny ,hot kitchen this morning baking a chocolate  cake for my birthday.
