Instructions: Review the structure of an Opinion Essay, then choose one of the following topics to write your own opinion essay. 

• Children under 16 should not be allowed on social media.
  
• Learning a foreign language should be mandatory for all students across the world.
  
• University tuition Should be free
  
• There should be a cap ( maximum) on the amount of money that entertainers and athletes can make each year. 
  

Before you begin writing, complete the following steps:

• Choose your topic
  
• State your point of view ( agree or disagree) 
  
• Identify three  reasons for your opinion
  
• Choose one real-world example that supports each reason.
  
• Identify one counterargument that someone could use against your point.
  
• Identify an argument that could be used against this counterargument 
  

Once the planning stage is complete, begin writing your essay.  Please note, this is just the first draft of your essay.
