Elements and Principles Design Matrix



Look at the big chart of images and the worksheet titled “Elements and Principles Design Matrix.”

For each square on the worksheet:

👉 Step 1: Look at the matching image in the chart.

👉 Step 2: Describe what you see by answering two things:

  1. What element of design is being used?
    (Choose from: line, shape, form, color, value, texture, space)
    – Example: “This image uses curved lines.”

  2. What principle of design is being shown?
    (Choose from: balance, movement, contrast, emphasis, rhythm, pattern, unity)
    – Example: “The lines create a sense of movement.”

  3. Complete the worksheet using your creativity and drawing skills
