When Mieko gets home from school she meets her grandpa in the field. When she tells him about her day they have the following conversation;
“Of course, they are all monsters?”
“Yes! ” Mieko replied.

Is this true? Explain the ways in which some people at Mieko's school are monsters and some are not. Write at least 4 sentences

Grandpa swept an arm toward the rice field.
“See that? Rice does not grow all by itself. I must plant the seeds, fertilize them, and see that no weeds stop their growth. Then I must separate the seedlings and plant them farther apart. It is not easy.” His face was serious. “It is not easy to make friends either, especially when you hate almost “ everyone.”
What important lesson do you think Grandpa is trying to teach Mieko when he says this? What advice would you give to Mieko about how to make friends at her new school?
