Activity 1.2.1B – Introducing a Speaker

Make a submission

Your activity is to prepare a three (3) minute oral introduction to a guest speaker at a conference. You may choose anyone as the guest speaker, but he or she must be a living person and searchable on the Internet. Examples could include a politician, a music star, an actor, an environmental activist, a famous entrepreneur, scientist, etc.

Recall all the strategies you’ve learned so far from the TED Talks you heard and use as many as you can in your short three minute introductory speech.

Before you post your final speech on MOODLE, rehearse your speech to refine the order of your arguments and the transitions between them; (e.g., incorporate deliberate pauses to enhance the impact of the message; increase your volume to emphasize important facts in your introduction).

Submission: (teacher to chose one of the following options)
  •  You will present your speech to class & upload your notes to Moodle in PDF format.
OR

  • Upload your response as video/audio to Moodle

Your file must be less than 20 MB
