In this film, because Poirot and the other characters all live in the same building, the story feels close and tense, like the danger is in the next door. When Patricia finds the crime scene on the third floor, it’s scary because it’s so close to where they live. The small, tight space lets Poirot watch everyone’s reactions up close, so even small things people do seem like they could be clues, making me suspicious of each person.

Since I see everything from Poirot’s view, I get to follow along as he pieces together the mystery. For example, he watches how each neighbor reacts to seeing the body, which gives him hints about who might be involved. This small space and Poirot’s careful way of observing things make it feel like I'm solving the mystery with him, which keeps me on edge.
