I chose the poem “Dreams” by Langston Hughes.

The poem “Dreams” relates to my life because it reminds me how important it is to keep my goals even when things are difficult. One line that stood out to me is, “Hold fast to dreams.” This line makes me think about my own future and how I should not give up on what I want to achieve. Sometimes school, responsibilities, and challenges can make me feel stressed, but this poem reminds me that dreams give life meaning. Another line says, “Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” I think this means that without dreams, people may feel lost or unmotivated. In my life, having goals helps me stay focused and continue working hard.

This poem also connects to my experiences because everyone faces obstacles while trying to reach their dreams. When I read it, I feel encouraged to keep trying even if success takes time. The poem is short, but its message is powerful and clear. It reminds me that dreams are not just wishes; they are something we should protect and believe in. I also think it encourages young people like me to stay hopeful about the future. Overall, this poem relates to my thoughts and feelings because it shows how dreams can guide our lives and give us strength.
