Langston Hughes' "Dream"
Langston Hughes' poem "Dream" has a profound impact on me when I felt that my academic goals were in trouble. The line "Hold fast to your dream" reminded me that even if I got tired of exams, I should still keep going. Last month, I wanted to drop the IELTS course at school because I thought I couldn't do it, but this poem made me realize that if I gave up, I would be like "a bird with broken wings / unable to fly". I know that as long as I continued to study hard, I would succeed. This short poem tells me not to forget the things that make life vibrant.
