The poem "I Look At The World" by Langston Hughes connect to my life since it talk about the limited of feeling but always having hope in mind. Sometimes I feel like there are many expectation and pressure from other people surrounding me make me feel my world is tiny and like they control my world. The line about a “fenced-off narrow space” remind me of the times when I felt restricted or misunderstood. However, the poem also shows strength and awareness. It makes me think about how I can go over it, make me understand I should do something to change my world instead of letting them control me since my future is build by myself.
This poem also touching my emotion because it talks about change, the confident and believing in myself. When the speaker says his hands can make “the world that’s in my mind,” it light my mind that I have power over my future. There are moments when I doubt myself like when I do something and in my mind always think that am I do it wrong or am I correct make me always confused, but this poem encourages confidence and action of me. It inspires me to work hard for my goals and not accept unfair limits. Overall, the poem makes me feel hopeful and motivated to create a better future for myself.
