I chose the poem “Dreams” by Langston Hughes because it reminds me how important dreams are in life. In the poem, the writer says “Hold fast to dreams.” This line stood out to me because it tells people not to give up on their goals. In my life, I also have dreams like going to university and building a good future. Sometimes school and other responsibilities are stressful, but my goals help me keep moving forward.

Another line in the poem says “Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” I think this means that without dreams, life can feel empty and meaningless. For me, my goals give me motivation to work harder every day. Even when things are difficult, remembering my dreams helps me stay focused. This poem shows that dreams give people hope and direction in life.
