1. Inner expectations are the expectations you put on yourself. Ex: I've decided to do exercise every day since I want to be healthier.

Outer expectations are the expectations from other people put on you. Ex: Your parents want you to become a doctor.

2. Upholder: readily meets outer and inner expectations.

Questioner: readily meets inner expectations only.

Obliger: readily meets outer expectations only.

Rebel: resists both inner and outer expectations.

3. Obliger is the most common with 40 %, and the least common is Rebel with 15 %, Questioner about 25 % and Upholder about 20 %.

4. Obligers is the ones who have the hardest time because they often struggle with their own goals unless someone else is holding them accountable.

5. I think the Tendency is the hardest to work with is Rebels. Since they resists inner and outer expectations, they don't like being told what to do, and I prefer freedom.

  • Meets both inner and outer expectations

  • Very responsible and disciplined

Questioner

  • Always asks “Why?”

  • Will do something only if it makes sense

  • Likes research and logic

Obliger

  • Very reliable for others

  • Likes helping people

  • Needs accountability to finish personal goals

Rebel

7. I think I am a Questioner. I like to understand why I should do something before I do it. If a rule or task makes sense to me, I will work hard and complete it. But if I don’t understand the reason, I feel less motivated to follow it.
