The Smiths’ dinner included sweet (bread, fries), salty (fries, ketchup), sour (pickles, ketchup), and bitter/fresh flavours from the salad vegetables. The elements were mainly Earth (sweet foods), Water (salty foods), Wood (sour foods), and some Fire from the vegetables.

I would score this meal a 4/10. The salad adds some healthy balance, but the meal is mostly processed, greasy, salty, and high in unhealthy fats. According to TCM, too much fast food can weaken digestion and create excess heat and dampness in the body.

A healthier TCM meal could be grilled chicken, brown rice, steamed broccoli, carrots, and warm ginger soup with green tea. This meal is more balanced, warm, natural, and easier for the body to digest.
