I think good short stories have the same effectiveness as long books and novels. I don't think writing a short story is an easier job than an author of a longer book or novel because good short stories need clearer words to express what happens let readers feel the feelings and we can empathize. It is a hard work for a short story.

Short stories and novels each possess their own strengths, appealing to diverse tastes and reading encounters. Nevertheless, constructing a gripping short story presents parallel difficulties to composing a novel, demanding authors to impart depth and significance within constrained word limits, necessitating meticulousness and linguistic efficiency. In essence, the potency of a narrative hinges on its execution, irrespective of length, and authors of both short stories and novels confront distinct hurdles in shaping captivating tales.

In my perspective，I think the short story are same effective and hard as longer novel，because the author need more clearly and deeper word to write，which it is can not easy or complex。For story whole part，it can not write more details ，cause easy to understand meaning is essential in short story。so I think author of short story as hard as the novel of author。

I do think short stories are as effective as longer books and novels. Although they are short and have fewer words, they also express strong emotions and opinions. Certainly, the author of a short story doesn't have an easier job than the author of a longer book or novel. The author of a short story needs to describe his or her feelings and things simply and briefly, which can test the author's writing skills. Therefore, short stories are not only as effective as longer books and novels, but they also require authors much effort.
