Steps:
Empathize (15 minutes):
- Interview peers or imagine the needs of international students.
- Create empathy maps highlighting emotions, needs, and challenges.
Define (15 minutes):
- Synthesize insights from Empathize.
- Develop a clear and concise problem statement (e.g., "International students feel disconnected due to language barriers and lack of cultural activities.").
Ideate (20 minutes):
- Brainstorm creative solutions using sticky notes or whiteboards.
- Narrow down ideas by voting as a team.
Prototype (30 minutes):
- Build a low-fidelity prototype (e.g., sketches, role-play, or simple 3D models using craft materials).
Test (25 minutes):
- Share prototypes with another group.
- Gather feedback and iterate on the solution.
Group presentations
- Each group presents their solution and discusses how they applied the stages of design thinking.
