  9. Inspection – A careful check to ensure something is safe or working properly.
  10. Misaligned – Not positioned correctly; out of place.
  11. Wrench – A tool used to turn bolts and fix machinery.
  12. Faulty – Not working properly; broken or defective.
  13. Motorist – A person who drives a car.
  14. Come to terms with – To accept something difficult or challenging.
  15. Underestimate – To think that someone or something is less capable than they really are.
  16. Reunion – A meeting of people who have not seen each other for a long time.
  17. Greased – Covered with oil to make something run smoothly.
  18. Crowbar – A strong metal tool used to lift or pry things apart.
  19. Labours – Works hard, especially in a physically demanding way.
  20. Scenery – The natural features of an area, such as mountains, trees, and rivers.
  21. Gruelling – Extremely tiring and difficult.
  22. Scruffy – Messy, unclean, or untidy in appearance.
  23. Myth – A false belief or idea.
  24. Resemble – To look like or be similar to something else.
  25. Mist – A light fog that makes it hard to see clearly.

  1. Paved (the road to freedom) – A metaphor meaning to create an opportunity or make progress toward something.
  2. Concessions – Small compromises or allowances made to satisfy a situation.
  3. Molten – Melted by heat (e.g., molten sulphur is a dangerous, liquid form of sulphur).
  4. Axles – The parts of a vehicle that connect the wheels and help it move.
  5. Endangers – Puts someone or something at risk of harm.
  6. Handful – A small number or amount of something.
  7. High beams – The bright headlights of a vehicle used for night driving.
  8. Interference – An action that disrupts or affects a situation.
  9. Lumberjack shirt – A checkered or plaid flannel shirt, often worn by workers.
  10. Perseverance – Continued effort despite difficulties or obstacles.
  11. Unwavering – Strong, steady, and not changing.
  12. Visualize – To imagine or picture something in the mind.
  13. Sinking glow – A poetic way of describing the sun setting on the horizon.
  14. Snort (of the truck) – A metaphor describing the loud noise a truck makes, similar to an animal's sound.
  15. Mechanical dragons – A metaphor comparing large trucks to powerful creatures.
  16. Gathering mist – A poetic phrase describing mist that is slowly increasing in the air.
  17. Jam (valve is jammed) – When something is stuck and won’t move or open.
  18. Steam hose – A pipe that sprays hot steam, used to melt frozen substances.
  19. Gruelling schedules – Extremely exhausting or demanding work routines.
  20. Drastically – In an extreme or sudden way.
  21. Cab (of a truck) – The front section of a truck where the driver sits.
  22. Rowdy – Loud, wild, or disorderly behavior.
  23. Overcome (a barrier) – To successfully deal with or defeat a difficulty.
