Glossary- Bullying


  • Bullying - The act of using force, threats, or intimidation to harm or control someone else, often repeatedly and over a period of time.
  • Cyberbullying- The use of electronic communication, such as social media or online platforms, to harass, intimidate, or harm others.
  • Mental health awareness - The understanding and recognition of the importance of mental well-being and the need to address mental health issues.
  • Derogatory- Intended to belittle, disrespect, or show a lack of respect for someone or something.
  • Resilience- The ability to recover quickly from difficult situations or to withstand adversity.
  • Empathy - The ability to understand and share the feelings of others, putting oneself in someone else's shoes.
  • Inclusive- involving or encompassing all, leaving no one out regardless of their differences or backgrounds.
  • Unity- The state of being united or joined together, often for a common purpose or goal.
  • Harassment- Unwanted and repeated behavior that causes discomfort, fear, or distress to someone.
  • Raise awareness- To increase knowledge and understanding of a particular issue or problem among a group of people.
  • Diverse- Having a variety of different types or forms; showing a range of differences.
  • Protest- To express strong disagreement or disapproval, often by gathering in public and voicing concerns or demands.
  • Rallies- Gatherings or events organized to unite people around a common cause, often involving speeches, demonstrations, or performances.
  • Comprehensive- Complete and thorough, covering all aspects or details of something.
  • Widespread- Existing or happening over a large area or among many people.
  • Walkout- An organized protest in which people leave a place, such as a school or workplace, to show their dissatisfaction or disagreement.
  • Regulations- Rules or laws set by authorities to control or govern certain activities or behaviors.
  • Systemic change- A fundamental and widespread transformation or alteration in the way a system or society operates.
  • Culture of acceptance and respect- A social environment or atmosphere where people are valued, appreciated, and treated with dignity regardless of their differences.
  • Digital literacy- The ability to find, evaluate, and use information and communication technologies effectively and responsibly.
