Act 1 Scene 2 (short overview)

A soldier/captain reports to King Duncan of Scotland  (his sons Malcolm and Donalbain) that Macbeth (an army general and Thane of Glamis) has killed the rebel Macdonwald in a battle. 

Macbeth and his friend General Banquo joined forces to defeat another rebel, the Thane of Cawdor, as well as soldiers from Ireland and Norway. 

Duncan decides to punish Cawdor and give the Thane of Cawdor's title to Macbeth.
