Your next activity will be worth 5% of your final grade.

Teacher talks about nervousness. Most of us are uncomfortable speaking to groups. There are ways to overcome this.

  1. Being well prepared and having confidence in what you are saying is the key.
  2. YOU have to be interested in your speech. If you are not why should anyone else. 
  3. Preparation and Practice are the best antidotes
  4. Imagine the audience being filled with family and close friends.
  5. Observe the audience response. Are they looking bored and distracted or confused? Maybe you’re speaking too quickly. Not making eye contact. Not using strategies that will make them active listeners.
  6. How can you incorporated a variety of examples to make your speech more effective? 
  7. Can you add humour to make the audience laugh and automatically interested and liking you?
  8. Are your transitions between points smooth, logical and well thought out?
