Lecture Overview
Teacher points out the recurring theme of human growth being compared to Nature’s seasons. Youth is Spring and Summer – Aging is Fall and Winter.
Using Structure and Form document, teacher reviews The School Boy by William Blake and point out the way to determine the meter and rhyme scheme of the poem
The expectation is that students will be able to recognize form and structure in other poems in this course but also later in their ENG4U course of study. Using conventions for determining meter and rhyme schemes is an essential skill to be mastered.
