Lecture Overview
The next unit consists of four lessons on Writing.
Although the focus will be on writing essays, a portion of the unit will be and writing for a newspaper (non-fiction).
To prepare you for the next unit, you will be introduced to what other writers have said about writing fictional stories and about the art and the craft of writing itself.
A few examples were chosen from this book, “The Writer’s Handbook” edited by A.S. Burack, and two short passages from the first essay will be read.
In the next activity you will read one of the essays from this book – an American writer of popular historical novels answers questions about the stories he writes and the ways he writes them
