Lecture Overview
In this lesson you will be thinking and acting like a media writer. In Unit 6 – Media Studies, we’ll go deeper to examine advertising, video and movies.
The teacher will extend writing to writing for newspapers. There will be an optional activity to write a piece of fiction – either a poem or a short, short story.
What is the media?
Dictionary definition: Collectively speaking the media is the main means of mass communication (TV and Radio broadcasting, Publishing, and the Internet) regarded collectively.
So Facebook, YouTube, TIKTOK, WeCHAT, WeiBO are all Media.
We’ll focus firstly on writing a newspaper article because like essay writing, there is an established formula.
