Read pages 1084 - 1087 and discuss in group meeting
Students continue reading Page 1084-1087 where Nora says: "But my Dear Mr. Krogstad, it simply isn't in my power to help you."
Dr Rank’s short speech about Krogstad is a good example of exposition and verbal characterization. He says that Krogstad is, “morally twisted.” What could that mean? Make a list of what you think Dr Rank means.
When Krogstad first arrives he tells Nora, that he has a position at Torvald's bank. However, a few minutes later Nora says to Dr. Rank, “I didn’t know … Krogstad had any connection with the bank” (1082) . Discuss your opinion about what may be going on, and why Nora seems to be telling a lie. She also seems to forget how to pronounce Krogstad's name
Dr. Rank’s attitude towards sick people is paradoxical. What does that mean and how is his opinion a paradox? Discuss and come to a group agreement.
