Overall Expectations

Individual Development: demonstrate an understanding of theoretical perspectives and research on various aspects of individual development

Development of Intimate Relationships: demonstrate an understanding of theoretical perspectives and research on the development of intimate relationships;

The Development of Family and Parent-Child Relationships: demonstrate an understanding of theoretical perspectives and research on the development of family and parent-child relationships.

Learning Goals:

Become familiar with 3 Theories of Social Sciences as the structure for studying families and relationships in Canada.  Learning about steps and stages in becoming an adult.  Learning about types of relationships and intimate relationships as well as issues and factors impacting parent-child relationship

Assessment and Evaluation:

For Learning: Surveys, Moodle Quizzes, Discussion Questions, Teacher Observation and Feedback

AS Learning: Research Skills, Vocabulary definitions, using the Research and Inquiry Process, Teacher Conferences, Oral Discussion Questions 

Of Learning: Journal Entry on Journeying to Adulthood, Presentation on Family and Parent-Child Relationships

Accommodations:

Teacher assistance, feedback and support during the teaching and learning process; Interviews and Consultations with teacher; repetition of key elements and factors
