Materials

  • Watercolor Paints
  • Watercolor Paper: Use heavyweight, textured paper
  • Paintbrushes: Various watercolor brushes (round, flat, and detail brushes in various sizes) .
  • Paper Towels or Tissues
  • Palette

Instructions:



- Draw or Use a Template: Draw a color wheel with 12 segments on paper or use a provided template.

- Start with Primary Colors: Paint the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) in three segments on the wheel.

- Mix to Form Secondary Colors: Combine each pair of primary colors to create secondary colors:

Red + Yellow = Orange

Blue + Yellow = Green

Red + Blue = Purple Place these secondary colors in segments between the primary colors.

- Create Tertiary Colors: Mix each primary color with a neighboring secondary color to form tertiary colors:

Red + Orange = Red-Orange

Yellow + Orange = Yellow-Orange

Yellow + Green = Yellow-Green

Blue + Green = Blue-Green

Blue + Purple = Blue-Purple

Red + Purple = Red-Purple Place these tertiary colors in the appropriate segments between primary and secondary colors.
