Gestures      /Jes-CH-ers/

A movement of part of the body, especially a hand or the head, to express an idea or meaning.

Here are some examples of gestures: eye-contact, head nodding, hand movements, shrugging your shoulders.


Facial Expressions      /Fay-SH-al Ex-pres-SHuns

A movement led by the muscles in the face used to show emotion.  

Here are some examples of facial expressions: face or mouth movements like smiling, eye/eyebrow movements (like squinting or furrowing your eyebrows). 


Space     /Spase/

The distance between yourself and another person. 

Here are some examples of space: proximity to another person, social distancing, personal space, handshakes, hugs.


Posture    /Poss-CHer/

The positioning of your body as a response to an emotion or state of being. 

Here are some examples of using body posture:
open or closed arms, sitting tall or slouching, body position.
