How is writing an informational text different from writing a summary?  At what point in your life do you think you will need this skill?

For writing a summary that probably is to catch the main idea and make this article short to easier understand what happened. And an informational text is more about explain, which included the more details, more fact but no opinions. From my perspective, I believe that I will use the summary skill when I am still a student. However, when I am working the informational text will be more useful for me.

I agree with your point. For students, it might be more useful to summarize. While at work, information texts can make the transmission of information more efficient.

Writing information texts involves conveying information comprehensively and in detail, covering a large number of details, being longer in length and having a complete structure. In contrast, writing summaries involves extracting core points and summarizing key information, being shorter in length. Both skills are needed when making one's own work reports during the working stage or when passing on information to others.

A summary is short. It tells only the main ideas. You may need both in school, work, or life. These skills help you understand, explain, and remember things better and faster.
