Read the poem Victoria Soto by Kayla Czaga and My Papa's Waltz by Theodore Roethke.
Both poems describe tragic events and incidents, and both deal with children. Use your own personal interpretation of each poem to answer the following questions.
1. How effectively does the poet share her/his message in these poems?
2. Does she/he use any special figurative language or techniques considering the poems are about tragic events to children?
3. What was your overall impression or feeling of these poems?
