    1. rationalize a denominator by multiplying by the conjugate.

    2. determine slopes of tangents using the difference quotient.

    Nelson MCV4U Textbook: Section 1.1 & 1.2 (pages 6 to 21)

    Tasks:

    1. Read Section 1.1 & 1.2 (pages 6 - 8 and 10 - 18) in the textbook.

    2. Study Rationalizing Denominators Lesson and take notes.

    3. Answer questions 6 and 7 on page 9 in section 1.1.

    4. Study Slope of a Tangent Lesson and take notes.

    5. Answer questions 6, 8 - 11, 20, 21 on pages 19-21 in section 1.2.

    6. Submit all work to Lesson 1.1 Assignment dropbox.

    7. Check your answers and review as necessary.
