Conjugate

switching the sign of the radial expression. For example:
\( a+b \sqrt[]{c} \) is conjugate of \(a + b \sqrt[]{c}\) and vice versa
\(\sqrt[]{a}-\sqrt[]{b}\) is conjugate of \(\sqrt[]{a}+\sqrt[]{b}\) and vice versa

E

Equivalent Expressions

an expression that has the same value or worth as another expression, but does not look the same. For example: \( 2(2x-3y+6) \) is equivalent to \( 4x-6y+12 \)


R

Radical

the \( \sqrt[]{} \) symbol that is used to denote square root or nth roots.


Radical Expression

an expression containing a square root. E.g: \( \sqrt[]{5}, \sqrt[]{y} +1, \sqrt[6]{15}, and \pm 5\sqrt[]{9} \).


Rational Number

 a number that can be expressed as fraction containing integers. E.g: \( \frac{3}{5} \)
