      • identify and use the most appropriate reading comprehension strategies before, during, and after reading to understand texts
      • select and use the pre-writing strategies most appropriate for the purpose to generate vocabulary and develop and organize ideas for writing
      • use knowledge of a wide variety of patterns of word structure and derivation to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words
      Learning Goal(s): In today's lesson, you will learn how to 

      • Write a summary of a non-fiction text,
      • Deduce the meaning of unfamiliar words,
      • Use pre-reading strategies to prepare for reading a text.

      • Today's lesson is based on the reading " Kim Yuna", found in the Unit 1 Resource Folder.
