Assignment Description:

Choose any of the stories covered in the first part of this unit.

  • Reading 1 - I Struggled to Read 
  • Reading 2 - Shark Attack Survivor
  • Reading 3 - Kim Yuna 
  • Reading 4 - Malala Yousafzai
  • Reading 5 - Terry Fox ( Test) 

You will record a 3-5 minute video, discussing the following. 

Part 1 

  1. Who is the story about?
  2. What issue or difficulty does this person have?
  3. What strategies did the person use to overcome this difficulty?
  4. What are two adjectives that can be used to describe this person? 
  5. Why do you think these words are appropriate for this person?
  6. What is one achievement that this person has made?
  7. What lesson can you learn from this person’s story?
  8. How can you use these lessons in your own life?
  9. Why did you choose this story over the others?

Part 2 

  1. How many times did you read this story before you understood it properly?
  2. What resources or techniques did you use to help you understand the story?
  3. Before reading this story, did you know anything about this topic?
  4. What do you do when you don’t know how to the meaning of a word in a story?

 You may include pictures  or a ppt in your presentation, but it is not required.
