Make a submission
Complete the reading of The Monkey’s Paw, Part Three (can be found in Unit 3 - Resource Folder)
For this activity, beginning at the line on page #8: “He raised his hand". “I wish my son alive again.” ... plot out in point-by-point format how the writer W.W. Jacobs builds his story with Visual and Auditory Imagery to its final dramatic climax using the actions of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the repetitive knocking on the door. Pay close attention to the auditory imagery and anything ‘impressionistic’ like lighting and the atmosphere in the house.
Example of point-by-point plot:
- The wife is at the window
- The husband is in bed
- The ticking of the clock
- The husband goes downstairs
- A knock sounds on the front door
- The matches fall from his hand
Continue with your point-by-point plot and submit your analysis for response from the teacher
