Poetry Assignment 2 - Choice Poem Presentation

Please note, this is a graded assignment! 

Instructions: For this assignment, you will choose a poem of at least 10 lines, of any genre and origin, and teach the poem to the class. 

To do this, you should :

  1.  Provide a summary or paraphrase of the poem ( what happens or is described in the poem)
  2. Identify  and explain the meaning and importance of at least 3 literary devices
  3. A brief discussion of the message or theme of the poem- this should include a discussion of at least two quotes from the poem that contribute to the theme
  4. A brief statement about why you chose this poem.


Prepare a ppt or other presentation format that includes:

  • The poem
  • Important ideas
  • Any images or video links that may add to your discussion. 

If your poem is not in English, please use a translated version, so that we can all understand 

This presentation should be between 5 and 10 minutes
