Planning a Narrative

Instructions: If you were given the opportunity to write a non-fiction narrative about your life, what would you write about?

Brainstorm some incidents that you have experienced. Can you find three or more meaningful events worthy of a story?

Choose 1 event and create a plan for a narrative by answering the following questions. DO NOT WRITE THE STORY 

  1. What incident will you narrate?
  2. Why did you choose this incident?
  3. When and where did it take place?
  4. How old were you?
  5. Who was involved?
  6. What main information will your audience take from this story?
  7. What important aspects of the story must be included to make it relatable? 
  8. What will be the mood or tone of the story?
  9. What did you learn from this incident?
