Instructions:
Choose a fictional or non-fiction text that you have read in the past year (texts covered in this class are not allowed for this assignment.
- You may choose any of the following types of texts :
- Novel or novella
- Fictional play
- Biography/ Autobiography
- Subject textbook ( history, social sciences etc)
- Non-Fiction History
- Poetry Anthology
- Informational text ( any topic 5+ pages)
- Short Story ( 5+ pages)
- If you wish to use a text type not on this list, consult your teacher first.
Write a one-page personal essay making a personal, text or world connection to your chosen text,
This means you must describe or explain what your text is about, then talk about how it connects to a personal experience, another text that you have read, or something that has happened in the real world. Finally, reflect on how reading this text can be useful or meaningful to others.
Format: This is a reflective essay, which means that you must use paragraph format. Include a brief introduction and conclusion, as well as at least two well-developed body paragraphs. Use formal language and the first-person perspective.
This is not an analytical essay. There is no need to research your chosen text or include a detailed analysis sourced on the internet.
