Earlier in the unit you began creating character maps for Mieko and her grandpa. Add details to your maps!
Think about the things that the characters have done in the story. Have they changed at all? Have they learned any lessons?
For example, Mieko started off as a bitter young girl who was afraid to do many things. Now she is a bit braver. She has made friends, returned to school and started to practice calligraphy again.
What new words can be used to describe her? What examples can you find to explain your choices?
Format: may write simple sentences or bullet point notes about the characters. State a descriptive word and then explain why you chose that word. Give an example from the story to support your point.
