  1. Which type of team can start at stage 2?   A team that is effective in communicating the rules of engagement can start at stage 2. This is because they have already set clear guidelines on how they will communicate and work together, which is a crucial foundation for moving forward in the team development process.

How do the five factors of team success relate to the stages of team development?  The team development process spans four stages: forming with clear rules, storming with shared goals and values, norming through diversity and assigned responsibilities, culminating in the performing stage where, with all these factors in place, the team achieves high performance.
  3. What are some examples of rules of engagement? 1. How will we communicate with each other? (In-person? WeChat? Zoom?) 2.How frequently will we meet? 3.How long will the meetings be? 4.How often should be report our progress to each other? 5.What will we do if there’s disagreement? (Group vote? One person decides?) 6.What happens if someone doesn’t reply to group communication? (Call their phone? Kick them out of the group?)

Why is it important to agree on a shared goal as a team?By communicating your goals openly with each other, you can come to an agreement together, which then tells you how hard everyone has to work. You can every agree as a team for certain people to work harder than others because their goal is higher. Agreement leads to harmony, and harmony leads to performance.
