My Fashion Identity

My Fashion Identity: Mood Board Project

Today, you’ll create your own fashion mood board to show off your unique style, inspirations, and personality. This is your chance to express who you are through colors, images, and fashion ideas!

Step 1: Explore Your Style (10–15 minutes)

Take a few minutes to think and talk about your fashion identity. Answer these questions:

✨ What are your favorite colors, patterns, and textures in fashion?
✨ Who or what inspires your style? (celebrities, music, culture, history, social media, etc.)
✨ How do you show your personality through clothing and accessories?

Step 2: Create Your Mood Board (20–30 minutes)

You’ll make a digital fashion mood board using Canva (or another app). This board will include the colors, clothes, and inspirations that define your fashion identity.

What to Include:

  • Pictures of clothing, shoes, and accessories you love.

  • Color palettes, textures (denim, lace, leather, etc.), or patterns that inspire you.

  • Words, quotes, or phrases that describe your fashion vibe.

🖥️ How to Do It in Canva:

  1. Sign in to Canva

    • Go to Canva → Click “Create a Design” → Search for Mood Board.

  2. Pick a Template

    • Search Mood Board in Canva’s template library.

    • Choose one you like (you can always change fonts, colors, and layout).

  3. Collect Images & Elements

    • Upload your own fashion pics (Pinterest, magazines, your photos).

    • Or use Canva’s elements:

      • Clothes (sneakers, dresses, jackets)

      • Accessories (bags, hats, jewelry)

      • Colors & textures (denim, leather, florals, metallics)

  4. Design Your Mood Board

    • Arrange your images in a creative way.

    • Add text boxes to describe your style or favorite brands.

    • Use color swatches to highlight your top colors.

  5. Final Touches

    • Adjust the design so it feels uniquely you.

    • Download it (PNG or PDF).

    • Be ready to share with the class!

Step 3: Share & Discuss (15–20 minutes)

Presentation: Show your mood board and explain:

  • Why you chose certain images, colors, or textures.

  • What your style says about your personality or culture.

  • How outside influences (social media, music, history, etc.) affect your style.

💬 Class Discussion Prompts:

  • How does personal style change as we grow?

  • Can fashion be used to challenge rules or express beliefs?

  • Do you see connections between your classmates’ styles and big fashion trends?
